Happy Halloween!

2012-10-31 08.39.00The children and parents had a spooktacular time at the Halloween parade today. Halloween is one of my favourite celebrations because it is so much fun to dress up, and get all of that candy! There are so many fun activities and lessons that use the Halloween theme and I love to decorate my house and room for the trick-or-treat fun. Here are some photos of the Halloween parade today.

Dance Club

Last year I decided to teach a Dance Club for my after school activity. Here is my group. They danced to "Monster High" and "Waka Waka" and where a huge hit at the end of school assembly. We will do the Dance Club again this year, and with more students signing up! Monster High 2012 Dance team 2012

    Co-curricular and student life

What does co-curricular and student life mean?
    It is how I:
    • Actively volunteer and participates in a variety of school events, student activities and/or school improvement initiatives beyond the classroom.
    • Am visible in the community by being present at a number of after school events and functions
    • Proactively help students be successful by working with resource people, ESL teacher and counselor
    • Take responsibility for the success of a major student activity or event
*These standards have been adapted from, The American School of Doha Teaching Standards, May 2008, and the Ontario Ministry of Education's Teacher Performance Appraisal System, March 2012.
